Flu Shots Are Here!

Everyone, please get your flu shots this year. It's not so much that I care about your safety, but I don't want you to get me or my family sick! Okay, just kidding... I do care about my friends and neighbors. So, to make things easier for anyone willing to take care of this immediately, I've organized a list of where to get your shots by date. (Hey, I had to do the research anyhow! Why not share?)

First, though, you should take a look at these nifty informational websites and not blame me for any omissions or liability of any kind whatsoever:
American Lung Association's "Find A Flu Shot" Page
ALA's Page about the Flu
The Centers for Disease Control Flu Page
CDC Flu Activity Report
Google's Flu Trends Page

***Catherine just returned from Walgreen's, where they told her that she needed a prescription in order to get a shot today. So please call ahead to make sure you have everything you need, and to check on appointment requirements, specific costs, insurance options, etc.

***Good Night Pediatrics (Baseline/Central) might offer shots for kids, but I wasn't able to reach them because they open at 5:00pm. Can anyone verify?
Thanks.

I thought it was worth noting that Catherine and I both received our shots yesterday at the Fry's store on 51st/Baseline. There was no line; they took our insurance, so it was free; and then we grabbed a few great deals from the clearance table, and we were out of the store in less than 15 minutes.

GO GET A SHOT!!! It couldn't possibly be easier, yet the latest news is that Arizona is already reporting moderate flu activity (which doesn't ordinarily happen until the holidays). So let's all just agree to be well this year.

Another bit of valuable news.... The state has reportedly received 4 million H1N1 vaccines: http://www.naztoday.com/living/2009/09/swine-flu-vaccinations-for-arizona. As soon as these become available, the high-risk group will have first priority. Then, the general public. In the mean time, why not get your seasonal flu vaccine and at least limit the amount of infectious disease in our community.

Thanks for posting this, Patrick! My wife and I got our flu shots today at CVS. We forced our kids to watch to build up their courage when they get theirs next week. :)

Also, we did not need prescriptions today at CVS. They also said they would've done pediatric flu shots as well, but we opted to wait for their appointment with their pediatrician.
